Memorial Weekend---NYC

Just like we did last year, this year we spent our Memorial weekend in NY visiting Auntie Rosie and eating tons of food! I love the Chinese food there - it is so authentic! Thank you Rose for letting us stay with you and mess up your apartment.
Besides eating, Rose took us to an acupressure clinic in Chinatown for some foot reflexology and a massage. It was AMAZING!!! What they did was very similiar to the massage in China and the price was fairly cheap compared to a regular spa massage. I was even more amazed at how well Charlotte behaved. She waited an hour for us without any fuss or complaints. She didn't even ask to let her walk around or do anything. She just sat on our laps for an hour. I finally realized we are lucky parents, what more can we ask for?

Dave hold Charlotte for the first half hr when I got my back massage

Now is my turn

she even smiles for mommy

" Hope we can come back next yr!"

E E Je Je is in Town!

Elaine and I were mission companions for just 10 days, but she has become part of my life eversince. She came to visit us 6 months ago, and she is back!
Charlotte and her have become the best buddy ever, she totally ignore me when Elaine is around. Of course, I also enjoy having Elaine's company especially when we are shopping. haha. Elaine refused to be called auntie, so we taught Charlotte to called her E E Je Je.

Walking around D.C.

we went to Spike's (one of the contestants from Top Chef ) burger place.

Making Takoyaki ( Octopus Ball) for the first time. I don't recall how the convo started, just out
of the blue, I showed Elaine I got this Takoyaki grill plate as christams present last yr and all the sudden, we both wanted to give it a try.

Am I a Pro or what?

not bad huh?! we also recorded the whole making process, I will post it later.

And of course, we can't miss the memorial day weekend( whole week) sale
This is taken @ Forever XXI

Found some "dollar deal "@ Gap, Yay!
Look at these cute shoes! This is the best deal I ever found! Got both of them for just 5 bucks, and they are still in season

Andrews Air Force Base Air Show

Our first outing in 2009 since spring comes -- Joint Services Open House, also Me and XX first Air show. Before we went, Dave already told me it will be loud, but I have no idea it will be that loud. Minus the noise, we had a blast with the Zhaos kids (yes, includes the dad too).
I am so glad we finally can do thing outdoor, next one- strawberry picking! Stay tune.

XX doesn't like the noise too, but she hates even more when we cover her ears

Walking like she owns the place

Snack Time!

First Mother's Day

I know Mother's Day is way passed but since it is my first celebrated mother's day (yes, dave forgot I am also a mother last year), it's still worth posting. :)
Here is the dinner that Dave's prepared: Ribeye steaks, steam mussels with garlic prosciutto sauce, asparagus, watermelon and red bean ice cream.
we were thinking XX probably can't eat steak ( she only has 4.5 teeth), so we prepared soup and rice for her. Apparently, we were under estimated her belly and her teeth, she ate 1/3 of my 12 oz ribeye plus her own food and 1 slice of watermelon.
Again, thanks Dave!!! Me and Charlotte both enjoy this mother's day dinner very much.

XX kept saying " wowwwww........." when she saw the food.

Super Busted!

Busted!
Last Sunday before church, we put Charlotte in her crib, thinking that she would recharge in time for church. When it was about time to go, we went to go wake her up...but then she was busted.
Instead of taking a nap, she was reading the whole time! She had grabbed a couple of her favorite books from the dresser next to her crib. (She's got long arms!) And of course she was super cranky at church.

Super Busted!
Yesterday, I come home from school. Alexis greets me at the door and says, put down your stuff. Look what she did:

So when XX finished her nap, she wanted to have a little fun on her own. She grabbed the two boxes of Kleenex from the dresser and pulled out the tissues one by one.

The tissues didn't go back into the boxes so we just stuffed them into our cabinet. So if you're over at our house, just help yourself.
