David's finally done with his proposal!!!! Horray! Good Job, David! For the whole summer, he was gone at 8am and didn't come home until 10pm. It's so nice to have my husband back :)! We took a little vacation to Virginia Beach to celebrate that this long lasting exam is finally over; well, at least for now.
We wanted to go to the beach so badly. We miss Hawaii so much. We were actually thinking about going to Hawaii at first but of course, it didn't happen. We still had a blast at Virginia Beach! It was so relaxing, highly recommended!!!!! We stayed at the Sheraton and though we had mixed feelings toward this hotel, the beachfront location was great. It only took us 2 mins to go to the beach. However, everything else about the hotel was mediocre- staff, room, service...etc. It looks like a Sheraton on the outside, but it was really just a motel on the inside.
We really didn't do much which is exactly what we had planned all along. Our schedule for the five days was: wake up, go to the beach, eat lunch, take a nap, sit by the pool, eat some more, walk on the boardwalk, put XX to sleep and finish my Twilight series.
One interesting thing we noticed was that XX sleep-plays sometimes. She would suddenly wake up in her crib with her eyes open, rearrange her stuffed animals and her blanket, and then go back to sleep again.
We were happy to experience more of the Atlantic Ocean at a lazy beach town. It was exactly what we needed to getaway from things.
Our anniversary is actually on sunday Aug 16, but we usually celebrate with Dave's birthday together ( aug 14). That's why I am typing now.....
David, Happy Birthday and our 4th Anniversary!!!!!!! Here is little something that I made for you. And now, you why you were listening to the same songs every night for the past month. I hope you like. Sorry you are sick on your birthday, I hope you will still enjoy the ball game tomorrow and get well soon. XX and I always love you ! :) P.s. Special thank to Abbey, Da and Rose again ( you know why...hahaha)
August is a month full of grandeur in this household; our birthdays and anniversary are all in August. For the past 3 years, we travelled in celebration of our big events. This summer, Dave needed to study for his qualify exam so we decided to stay in Maryland. Since I never miss an opportunity to party, I threw a beach BBQ-Hotpot hybrid party at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis on the Chesapeake Bay. When was the last time you had hot pot at the beach? Maybe.....never?! But I did it! Hot pot at the beach was a huge success!!! I know, I have crazy ideas sometimes. We had a lot of fun!!!! Thank you Zhaos and Browns for coming!
XX is obsessed with round objects these days. She calls everything round "ball." Here, she thought the watermelon was a ball too.
After playing with Mark and Bev's iPhones, I fell in love with iPhone apps (I am hooked on Sally's Spa:)). But since I am happy with my Blackberry Bold, there is no point in getting another phone. So iPhone minus the phone = iTouch!
After we got back from Seattle in June, I've been looking for a good deal for an iTouch. I have also been dropping hints here and there to Dave, in hopes of getting one for my birthday. Well, I didn't tell him exactly what I wanted, but I did make a big deal once about how he didn't help me find a good deal for an iTouch which, in turn meant that he didn't care about what I wanted. (Yeah, my hormones are inbalanced sometimes, even when I am not pregnant).
The Saturday before my birthday, we were planning to go to the county's annual farm harvest fair. XX was taking a nap and I was getting ready in the bathroom. I heard her talking, so I finished up quickly and went to her room. The door was locked. I knocked, Dave was inside and told me to wait. I thought that Dave was dressing XX up in some funny clothes again. When the door finally opened, XX walked out toward me wearing her panda backpack, with the Apple commerial music playing (see video). At that moment, I knew something was up. The funny part was that XX went back to the room after she walked halfway to me, probably because the bag was too heavy and so she was having a hard time walking. Eventually, she managed to deliver the package to me. In her panda backpack, I found my birthday wish (iTouch), along with something better--something I never thought of but always wanted--a MacBook Pro!!!! I was astonished, elated, and ecstatic all at the same time. And now, I am a Mac and Dave is a PC.
Thank you Dave, XX, and all my friends for the love and birthday wishes that I received. I had a wonderful wonderful birthday.
